Public reporting of spills involves notification to Dane County Public Health (608-266-4821) or lab@publichealthmdc.com and the WDNR Spill Hotline at 1-800-943-0003.
A written report is generated by contacting the WDNR Spill Hotline concerning the nature and magnitude of the spill. This spill report is sent to the WDNR Spill Coordinator for Dane County (608-347-0058) to coordinate spill cleanup efforts.
The Cottage Grove Fire Department also has spill cleanup equipment which can be used to contain spills (608-839-4343 - Fire Chief) or dial 911 in an emergency.
