Triad is an organization of Cottage Grove seniors, CG Police Department and Dane County Sheriff’s Office. It is sponsored by Dane County RSVP and is part of the National Triad, which was started in 1988 to reduce both criminal victimization and unwarranted fear of crime affecting older persons. The Triad of Dane County was formed in 1995. Cottage Grove Triad received the “best of the new Triad award” at last summer’s state convention. CG Triad has been meeting for years to bring information of interest, such as programs on scams and fraud, new banking technology, identity theft, car winterization checks and other programs requested by seniors. All Triad events are open to the general public and are free. Examples of previous events include Annual Car WinterizationCheck, a popular program on Scams, Fraud and Identity Theft, Home Security and Falls Prevention.
