How do I vote by Absentee Ballot?

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on election day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on election day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 10 days before the election. The elector must also be registered.

You must make a request in writing to obtain an absentee ballot.

Military and Overseas Voters: see the Federal Voter Assisstance Program at www.fvap.gov to request an absentee ballot.

All Others:

Download the Application For Absentee Ballot (EB-121). Complete the form and mail it to your municipal clerk's office at:

The application must be received by the clerk no later than 5:00 PM on the Thursday before the election in order for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you.

Request in Person at your Municipal Clerk's Office
Office hours are 8:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., Monday thru Friday. The Clerk's office will be open until 5:00 P.M. on the Monday before the election for absentee voting.

Deadline for Returning Ballot The completed ballot must be received by the municipal clerk no later than the day of the election so that it can be delivered to the polling location by 8 PM.

Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the muncipal clerk.
